About

BRAVE LITTLE BRATS was created from a childhood built across oceans, military bases, and constant change.

Growing up alongside my two siblings, I spent my childhood moving from place to place from Yokosuka, Japan, to Naples, Italy, Okinawa, Japan, and many places in between. We learned early what it meant to pack up our lives, say goodbye, and start over again.

Like so many children born and raised within military communities, in the US and overseas we didn’t always have one place to call “home.” Our lives were shaped by constant movement, deep friendships, new cultures, and the unique experience of growing up connected to the military world.

But somewhere along the way, we discovered something even more important:

Home is the people who love you.

The BRAT life shaped who I am in every way. It taught me resilience, adaptability, culture, community, and how to find connection no matter where life takes you.

I created Brave Little Brats to be more than just a children’s book or a brand. It’s a space where military and military-connected families can feel seen, understood, and celebrated. But it’s also for anyone who has ever felt caught between places, the kids who moved often, the families always starting over, and the people still searching for where they belong.

Because no matter where we come from, none of us are truly alone.

BRAVE LITTLE BRATS will also be donating some of the proceeds of the merchandise to the wounded warrior project.
